The Gambling Commission of Macau is a government body in Macau that regulates the casino industry. It was established on November 1, 1999 by an ordinance issued by the Chief Executive and it became operational on January 1, 2000. They are responsible for regulating gambling activities related to casinos and other gaming establishments in Macau.The commission administers a comprehensive set of gaming laws covering casino operations, lotteries, betting on horse racing or dog races, and slot machines.
As Macau is a world-known land-based casinos hub, the commission regulate offline casinos most of the time. However, it is also possible to obtain a Macau gambling license for online gambling activities.
