Taiwan is an island country in East Asia. It shares borders with China to the north, Japan to the northeast, and North Korea to the south. Taiwan is a popular destination for many tourists because it has beautiful natural scenery as well as historical sites that are famous throughout the world. However, not everyone knows that gambling in Taiwan is illegal under Article 36 of Chapter 14 of The Gambling Act (玩真人遊戲條例). This article prohibits all forms of gambling except those authorized by law or conducted at licensed facilities such as casinos and horse racing tracks. At such places only certain types of gambling are legal (bingo, scratch cards, lotteries).

Despite the ban, people in Taiwan can easily access online casinos with offshore licenses. And a good thing that it is not punishable by law.
