The gambling market in Switzerland is regulated by the Swiss Federal Act on Games of Chance (Loi sur les jeux de hasard, LJH). The LJH explicitly regulates games of chance and lays down a general prohibition to organise such games. Gambling can only take place under certain conditions as set out in the LJH or if it is subject to an exception.
