Online Gambling in Bulgaria + Casinos List

Gambling laws in Bulgaria have been evolving since the country's independence from the Eastern Bloc, with a number of changes to legislation taking place in recent years. The present system is based on three major pieces of legislation: the Law on Gambling Activities (1999), which regulates all types of gambling activities; the Law on Public Gaming and Betting Establishments (2006), regulating public gaming and betting establishments only; and amendments made to this law by Presidential Decree No. 431/2009, which regulate primarily online games operated by Bulgarian licensed operators via websites accessible from inside Bulgaria.

The latest amendment to the law was made in 2014 when new rules for casinos were introduced following complaints that they had become too widespread.

So to say, all online gambling types are legal within the country except for lotteries which is a state monopoly. And this is definitely a good thing for online casino players especially.
