Baccarat: Guide + Casinos List

Baccarat is a card game that has been around for centuries. It was first played in France during the early 1700s, and soon became popular all over Europe. The name comes from the Italian word "bacchetta," which means stick or cane, most likely referring to the sticks used by players to keep score with before paper was invented. Baccarat is similar to blackjack in many ways; it's a one-hand game where you can bet on whether the player will get closer or further away from 21 points than the dealer does without going over (known as banking). The similarities end there though because baccarat is a bit more complicated.

In blackjack, players are trying to get closer to 21 points than the dealer. In baccarat, both player and dealer start with a score of 0. Players can bet on themselves (called "player" betting) or they can bet that the banker will win more heavily favored against them by making bets in favor of the house (called "banker" betting). There is also another type of wager called 'tie' where you pick if there'll be no winner at all when it's over which pays out way better odds $900 for $100 risked.
